The Implication of Revenue Generation on the Development of Local Government Areas

Local government as the grassroots level deserves serious attention from the federal government so as to be able to deliver essential services to the rural communities. It is in recognition of this fact that the 1976 reforms gave local government the constitutional recognition of a third tier of government. The local government was vested with the power and the responsibilities of providing essential services to the rural communities which would help to make life more meaningful thereby curbing rural-urban migration.
